Photo from the Amber-Cafe in Hamburg, directly opposite of Hanse Nautic, where we bought approx. 40 lb. nautic charts and sailing guides for our trip to Sweden, so that we desperately needed a coffee.
We are Renate and Hans (from Renate called Johannes because this is his official name in his passport), both together aged 119 years. We are retired which gives us the opportunity to live our dream and to set sail for our future.
The other participant is Motivatie, with its 24 years comparably young sail yacht from type Winner 9.50, a 9,50 m long and 3,10 m wide boat with some 48,7 sqm sails, which should be good enough to deliver the necessary speed for the approx. 3.000 nm ahead of our bow.
